High-Performance Magnetic Material

For long-term archival storage and a low error rate, Sony DDS tape employs magnetic material which has outstanding magnetic transfer characteristics. Key to this performance are Sony's ultra-fine particles and anti-oxidation coatings. These comprise HDA (High Density Alloy) metal material in the DG60P and DG90P.

Excellent Tape Transport Stability

To assure reliability under the stress of repetitive read/write operations, Sony developed the highly durable HCL (High Cross Linkage) binder. Sony's RDP mechanism helps maintain smooth tape winding, thanks to textured sheets that sandwich the tape. Sony's HR135 backcoat also provides extra stability.

Highly Reliable Cartridge

The HHP (High Heat Proof) shell adds reliability, while a high-strength lid guards against accidental breakage. The lid is made of anti-static material to protect against dust and keep the cartridge interior clean.
